The Regional Employment Commission Northwest this morning made the diagnosis to identify new employment opportunities and development in the municipalities of the Shire.
The dissemination of the study day has been attended by representatives of five municipalities, including mayors of Caravaca, Bullas and Calaparra as well as businessmen and members of groups and associations.
In recent months the consultant Waterhause Price has conducted the study, funded by the Employment and Training Service (SEF), in order to have a positive impact on the labor market situation from a local perspective.
To define specific actions have been previously established strategic goals and described the opportunities, strengths, weaknesses and threats of each of the municipalities.
"The performances are set based on a socioeconomic survey and a series of interviews and workshops held with the 17 leading companies in the area," said Councilman Employment in the city of Caravaca, Salvador Gomez, who has ensured that this study becomes a useful tool that makes the municipalities the best way to go to work for the job.
The diagnosis includes an action plan with specific initiatives for the Region and for each of the municipalities in particular.
Thus, some of the measures proposed are: the launching of campaigns positioning and branding of quality of typical products (sandals, lamb segureño, etc.). Access to new markets in sectors such as tourism and food, as a result of EU enlargement and the construction of the new international airport, improving the training of entrepreneurs and workers, taking advantage of programs to support SMEs and promoting tourist attractions in the municipalities (religious tourism, nature tourism, ecotourism etc..), among others.
