The Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda held this Saturday, June 25, the Night of San Juan.
To this end, the Department of Culture of the City of Caravaca planned performances of percussion and tastings queimada the light of traditional bonfires.
The party starts at 21.30 with a concentration in the door of the church and a parade to the plaza adjacent to the museum, where the sound and rhythms Timbastri Batukada tested for the occasion by members of the band of drums and bugles of the Barranda hamlet.
Attendees will enjoy the queimada, Galician drink traditionally linked to spells, prepared by members of the Party Commission of Barranda.
The mayor of Culture, Maria Cruz Pérez, pointed out that it is a "magical night and fun, which seeks the active participation of the public, it is part of the proceedings playing drums of oil that will be installed in the new square fitted outside the museum. "
La Noche de San Juan is a celebration of ancient origin, linked to the arrival of summer solstice, celebrated in many European countries and especially in Spain and Portugal.
Since the opening of the Museum of Ethnic Music, which houses the collection of Carlos Blanco Fadol instruments, the festival of San Juan has become a popular and participatory act, which enjoys wide acceptance by the public.
