Jesus Fernandez Bolaño has today taken up his position as Local Police Officer of Caravaca de la Cruz.
Bolaño Fernandez will head the police after being selected in a competition-free by a court composed of police chiefs of municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
Jesus Fernandez, 39 years old has been in the last three years the Unit Chief of Public Safety Murcia.
Previously he was stationed for fourteen years in the Rural Counter-Terrorist Group, a specialized unit to combat terrorism in the Basque Country.
With experience of over 20 years of service, has several courses of Judicial Police, Special Training and Protection of Persons, among others.
Local Police Caravaca currently consists of 47 agents who perform functions related to public safety, surveillance and control of traffic and citizen services.
Moreover, it remains permanently operational patrol in charge to tour the villages.
Thus, the City of Caravaca follows the criteria of the Law of Coordination of local police in the region of Murcia, in its Article 20.4 requires the appointment of a police officer in the municipalities of over 25,000.
"The squad of police has increased dramatically over the past five years so it is logical and necessary that the command structure fits the circumstances in order to optimize and improve their functioning and thus provide better service to all citizens, "stated the mayor.
