The City of Caravaca Cross has launched an energy saving plan involving the lighting of the streets of the town and parishes and the decorative lighting of monuments.
Among the measures highlighted the decrease in intensity of illumination in a total of 108 municipal electric priate from 23.00 to 7.00.
This is a reduction in consumption of 40% during the eight hours that the lighting is active low.
Likewise, the ornamental lighting of the Castle, the Church of El Salvador, El Temple, Plaza de Toros and the church of La Concepción is turned off at 1 am, resulting in a savings of 60% over the previous plan lighting.
Based on calculations made by municipal technicians and taking into account that the reduction levels achieve expected savings in electricity bills for street lighting is estimated between 150,000 and 200,000 euros per year.
Furthermore, within the energy saving plan promoted by the City of Caravaca, is the gradual replacement of major parts of the town of the traditional street lamps luminaires low yields with better lighting, electrical and savings.
Another measure in terms of energy efficiency is the gradual installation of solar panels on public buildings.
To date, teams are operating in spaces such as solar pavilion Juan Antonio Corbalan, indoor pool and pavilion Jorge Bera.
