The Abraham Project Association, in collaboration with the Department of Education of the City of Caravaca, has launched a book bank for collection, sorting and reuse of textbooks.
Those interested in donating and acquiring publications of the courses, Primary, Secondary and Bachelor can come to the seat that the association is on Calle Juan Carlos I of 10.00 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00.
Municipal School Board agreed at its last meeting to support this initiative to help families experiencing financial difficulties and encourage the reuse of material in good condition as protection of the environment.
The donated books will be selected by the staff of Abraham Project and made available to the public in his shop-sign.
"The Bank of Books is working on an experimental basis and hope you have a good reception from the citizens and be consolidated in future courses, serving caravaqueñas helps many families," said the Councillor for Education and Social Promotion, Carmen Ruiz , who added that this initiative, besides being a social resource, "promotes the values ​​of solidarity and respect for the environment."
The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has an agreement of collaboration with the Abraham Project for the development of activities aimed at supporting people at risk and / or social exclusion.
The result of this agreement, the store keeps track of sales, second hand clothing at greatly reduced prices and are holding literacy classes, sewing and shoe repair, and workshops to raise awareness among schoolchildren on environmental and social values.
