The CAVI "Dolores Michelena" Caravaca de la Cruz, the center specializes in caring for victims of gender violence, has served 57 new women during the past year, as announced today by the councilman of Women, Family and Promotion Social, Carmen Ruiz Mulero, has taken stock of how our service works together with the team in charge of responding to users.

Of the 57 clients served in the last 12 months, 33 are Spanish and the rest of a Foreign national.

As to the place of origin, 26 are neighboring Caravaca, Cehegin 6, 13 and 3 Calasparra Moratalla.

Since opening in 2006 were a total of 411 users that have requested the services of CAVI.

In this sense, the mayor Carmen Ruiz said that "the center pioneered the Caravaca Murcia and given its proper functioning was exported to other municipalities, and currently has a network of 20 centers for victims of child treatment ".

Currently, a legal adviser, a social worker and a psychologist in charge of assisting victims of domestic violence to support their social reintegration and employment.

The center works in coordination with the Association "I Grow", which offers treatment for minor children of victims of violence.

In addition, periodically the CAVI, in collaboration with the Department of Women, Family and Social Development, carries out activities such as workshops, film and reading promotion, tours and lectures to raise awareness.

Similarly, work is in the prevention field through courses in secondary schools in the municipality.

Moreover, during the press conference this morning reported to the call of the third poster contest "Teens Against Gender Violence" to mark the Day Against Violence Against Women, held on 25 November.

The CAVI is located at the Center for Training, Employment and Equal Pedro Campos Street, opposite the garden of The Cejo.
