During 2011 has been reduced by 15% the rate of road accidents in the municipality

Local Police Caravaca de la Cruz will work with a new structure and organization in order to optimize human and material resources, to achieve greater efficiency and respond to changing social needs, as reported by Councilman John Francisco Giménez Gate during the press conference this morning by the police chief, Jesus Fernandez Bolaño.
Effective January 1, the local police will be structured in a group of public safety (police and made up of 26 to care for the citizens, maintain public order and administrative procedures), special security group (made up of six police officers and whose main functions will be conducting traffic control, alcohol, drugs, monitoring and control events), a group of parishes and the environment (consisting of 6 officers and aimed at the protection of rural and natural areas) and, finally, traffic and crowded group composed of 10 officers.
The 47 officers who are part of the local police are participating in a training plan with attending various courses and practices to encourage specialization in each of the areas.
"All these measures aim to improve the efficiency and coordination in the tasks of public security and traffic will not mean added financial cost to the municipal coffers," remarked Juan Francisco Giménez Gate.

Throughout 2011 there has been a 15% decrease in the rate of road accidents in the municipality.
Local Police Caravaca de la Cruz has made a total of 6,691 interventions, of which 22% respond to calls from the Emergency Coordination Center or 112, 11% was produced by vehicles parked on permanent fords, 20% by accidents and traffic problems and 10% neighborhood nuisance caused by noise.
The other interventions, with lower percentages are due to theft, fighting or hawking, among others.
Local police has processed a total of 140 complaints relating to public safety, most of them for exceeding the time limit lockout, for disturbing the peaceful coexistence or alter collective security, and waste littering the street and drug abuse.
Moreover, throughout this year there have been various campaigns for helmet, belt and prevent cell phones and alcohol among drivers.
For example, there have been a total of 350 breath tests with a score of 93% of tests with negative results and 7% positive.
