The City of Caravaca de la Cruz will begin a rehabilitation and adaptation of the Casa de los Caballos del Vino, a building in the historic heart of the city, with access through the streets again and Gregorio Javier.
The project, valued at 290,000 euros, will be funded entirely with grants "Leader" of the European Rural Development Fund.
This action will serve to rehabilitate one of the most emblematic manor houses of the city, exceptionally listed in the Special Plan for Reform of the Old Town and is currently in a state of considerable deterioration.
The City Council very positively valued the Leader grant aid, as well as allowing the recovery of a space with a high historical value and heritage, will serve to promote the candidacy of the Wine Horses for Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
The project involves the comprehensive reform of both exterior and interior of the house dates from the seventeenth century and the creation of a museum that reflects the history and characteristics of the Horses of Wine and own material elements of the celebration.
It has provided a room for audiovisual projections, embroidery room, living room painting contest Rafael Tegea, among other agencies.
The current House of Wine Horses belonged to the family Musso-Muñoz Melgarejo, whose coat of arms were found inside the house, and then to the family of Pigs.
