In our program for municipal elections in both 2007 and 2011, in point of citizen participation, among other objectives, we proposed "Creation of Municipal Advisory Councils, culture and heritage, economic and social development, environment and territory which enable groups and experts to participate in important decisions of the City. "
These advisory bodies that can enrich one hand and value of other decisions adopted by the City Council and that its impact is desirable to have the broadest and make judgments.
We know now there is only the Social Welfare Advisory Board rarely meets.
At the time, in 2000, and for a short time, was established the Advisory Council for Culture and Heritage, which came into operation only when it would have been desirable that this body existed and had ruled both the reforms and projects buildings such as historic urban spaces, in some cases as sad as can be with the slide or misguided as the project's future audience.
The establishment of a representative number of Municipal Advisory Councils, covering the key areas where there would economic cost to the municipal coffers (would not have paid positions) and their contribution would facilitate the best success in important decisions.
Its composition, powers and operation would be regulated with the greatest consensus through Statutes and Regulations.
Similar bodies at different levels have the autonomous communities and the state itself (Economic and Social Council of the Region of Murcia, Council of Fiscal and Financial Policy, ...).
Therefore, from the Socialist ranks, said Alfonso Sanchez, we will propose at the next plenary to adopt the following agreement:
Create at least three municipal councils Advisors: culture and heritage, economic and social development, environment and territory, to enable groups and experts to participate in important decisions the City Council.
