The Department of Culture of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, in collaboration with the Association of Book Workshop, will start storytelling workshops aimed at children aged 4 to 7 years.
This activity aims to create readers from an early age and expand the services the City Library provides to the public.
"The purpose of these workshops, which will be held on a weekly basis throughout the year, is to familiarize children with the characters, arguments and values in the literature through reading activities and plastic animation," he detailed the Councillor for Culture, Maria Cruz Perez.
The mayor also said that this activity will increase the number of users of the children's section of the library and will share with parents of library services.
The registration period in storytelling workshops is open until 12 March, with a fee of 6 euros per semester.
Information on tuition and contents thereof is available at the Casa de la Cultura.
Moreover, within the activities of the Municipal Library, has launched a Reading Club intended for adults, which share common views on reading.
Thus, it favors the contact with the reading outside the academic context and work on reading comprehension and knowledge of literature.
