The Duathlon XII Caravaca de la Cruz meets next Saturday, March 10, in the streets of the town about 300 athletes from Murcia and other parts of the Spanish geography.
The Councillor for Sports, Emilio Perez, today introduced the test circuit including regional and qualifying for the Championship of Spain, accompanied by the President of Triathlon in the Region of Murcia, Diego Calvo.
The Department of Sports City of Caravaca bet for holding popular tests and competitive nature to promote healthy lifestyles and add new attractions to the city related to sport, as highlighted by the mayor Emilio Perez.
The main novelty of the XII Duathlon Caravaca de la Cruz is the change of route, with more sections of street circuit, so the competition more attractive and exciting for the audience and participants.
The test consists of a first sector of foot race of 6,200 meters, plus 32 miles of cycling, to finish with 3,100 yards on foot.
Another novelty is that the start area, finish and transition will be located on the seafront of the slide and Temple Square.
There is provided a special device made by officers of the Police and Civil Defence volunteers, who will coordinate traffic and ensure the normal development of the test.
In addition, monitors the Department of Sports and Triathlon Club volunteers Caravaca control all aspects of organization and attention to athletes.
The test at senior start at 16.30 hours and the lower at 15.00.
Among those enrolled in the trial, at senior level are participants in the forthcoming Triathlon Championships in Spain.
Children will participate in categories a large group of students from the Municipal Sports Schools and School Sport program, that next season will aim at implementing a municipal school triathlon, has advanced as the Councillor for Sports.
