Components of women's associations and users of the Centre for Training, Employment and Equal Caravaca de la Cruz have participated this morning in the First Meeting "Women on the Way", along with other groups in the towns of Cehegin and Bullas.
The meeting, organized by the Tourist Consortium of the Northwest Greenway in collaboration with municipalities, is part of activities marking the United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace.
During the meeting, we proceeded to read the manifesto of March 8, with a call for society to "keep fighting to achieve real equality and to end the bitter face of inequality: gender violence."
Subsequently, it has come a stretch of road passing through Cehegín and has placed a plaque commemorating this first meeting "Women on the Way".
Councillor for Women and Social Development in the City of Caravaca, Carmen Ruiz Mulero, said that "Western society has successfully traveled much of the road to equality of opportunity between women and men, but there are still important steps to take to challenge stereotypes and situations of inequality. "
In addition, Ruiz Mulero said that today's meeting served to exchange experiences between the associations and groups of municipalities through which runs the Northwest Greenway.
The commemoration of International Women's Day will have its continuation on 16 March at 20.00 at the Center for Training, Employment and Equal XI Tribute to the Women Entrepreneurs of Caravaca de la Cruz.
