Schools Cervantes and El Salvador and the Institute of Archivel Oróspeda involved in the project "Entrepreneurship in my school" (EME) and "European Young Enterprise" (STEM), with which promotes entrepreneurial culture from an early age.
Participating students, along with their teachers, have held a meeting with the mayor, Domingo Aranda, to explain the work and ask permission to buy the weekly market.
Caravaca de la Cruz was the pioneer town in the implementation of projects on "Entrepreneurship in my school" and "European Young Enterprise", which today comprise more than 2,000 primary and secondary students throughout the Region.
Currently, the initiative is driven by the Ministry of Universities and Research Company, through the Institute of Development, and is framed within the 'Plan We start'.
During the school year students have formed their own company as a cooperative.
For this they had to elect the governing council, drafting bylaws and corporate image design.
Its activity is the manufacture of products made by them in class, after market research.
The methodology of these programs is the student notes that the real protagonist of their learning.
'Learning by doing' is the cornerstone of STEM programs and EME, as are students who are responsible for making decisions, while the teacher's role is to support and advice.
