The City of Caravaca de la Cruz is promoting the creation of a working group for the maintenance of legal demarcation of the Northwest Region.
This group will be responsible for gathering information and coordinate whatever actions are appropriate for the protection of the courts located in the town.
The working group, headed by the mayor and spokesmen of political groups with a presence in the Town Hall, is open to the inclusion of all stakeholders in the Administration of Justice.
Thus, it purports to bring together in one forum for representatives of lawyers, attorneys, officers, law enforcement and municipal associations.
The City Council plans to implement a web page to centralize information of the various authorities on the possible reorganization of the districts of the Region of Murcia.
In this space, both citizens and groups may join the working group and collaborate with their goals, providing arguments that demonstrate the importance for residents of the Shire to maintain a close administration of justice, quick and efficient, just as has happened so far.
Earlier this May of the full City Council passed a motion of Caravaca joint defense of the permanence of the courts of First Instance and Instruction based in the town.
The Consistory unanimously expressed their displeasure with the proposed reform could reduce the number of judicial districts in the Region of Murcia, which is still at an early stage of development.
The abolition of the courts would harm to the citizen and the authorities themselves, who will be forced to move to resolve cases like those related to gender violence, civil registry, or making quick judgments justice of detainees.
The legal jurisdiction of Caravaca, composed of three courts, is the largest in the region and encompasses the towns of Cehegin, Moratalla, Calasparra and Caravaca de la Cruz, with a population around 63,000 inhabitants.
