The City of Caravaca de la Cruz and the Forest Owners Association of the Region of Murcia (Profomur) have signed a collaboration agreement for activities related to environmental education and outreach of the natural heritage of the municipality.
The agreement, signed this morning by the mayor, Domingo Aranda, and the president of the association, Francisco Carreño, includes the design and implementation of an annual program of activities in the Nature Room, located at the sources of the Marquis and in various districts caravaqueñas.
It is, in the words of Domingo Aranda, "to translate the will and commitment to work together to raise awareness of our heritage and take it from an educational standpoint and sustainable."
The Councillor for the Environment, Antonia Maria Alvarez added that the main purpose of this agreement is to provide free activities to schools, associations and groups of the municipality, coinciding with celebrations such as World Environment Day Forest or Wetlands Day, among other dates.
"In those days, hiking and other recreational activities be disclosed fauna and flora of our town and, above all, will emphasize the need to conserve and protect the environment," he detailed the councilman.
Forest Owners Association of the Region of Murcia, constituted as a free collective membership nonprofit, aims for boosting measures for the protection of nature and biodiversity conservation, both flora and fauna, with interest and attention to the species with degrees of legal protection.
