The archaeological site of La Encarnación Strait of Caravaca de la Cruz has been presented at an international conference on religion and ritual in antiquity organized by the University of Jaén.
This conference, held in the town of Castellar jienense, brought together many important researchers in the field of Iberian culture and shrines.
Caravaca municipal archaeologist, Francisco Brotons, and the researcher Ramallo Asensio, were responsible for exposing the work that has been developing since the nineties in the reservoir caravaqueño by the University of Murcia and the city of Caravaca.
The paper, entitled "The Shrine of The Incarnation: sacred space and territory," focused on the archaeological, architectural and cultural Roman temple and the important restoration project undertaken to restore this place, labeled with the category of Historic Site.
Moreover, within the activities of dissemination of historical and archeological heritage of the municipality directed from the Archaeological Museum of La Soledad, Roman sites of El Cerro de la Fuente and Cabezuela Archivel Barranda be analyzed at a scientific meeting on Roman civil wars and the transformation of the indigenous world in southeastern Spain, which will take place at the University of Alicante the next days 7 and 8 November.
