The Guardia Civil Murcia has dismantled a criminal group dedicated to the theft of copper with the arrest of four members, after being caught in the middle of criminal activity in Caravaca de la Cruz.
Agents also recovered three coils large copper that had been stolen in a power transformer, and have involved the vehicle and the tools used by the group to develop their criminal activity.
The service described is part of the "Plan of police response to the theft of copper wiring" that the Civil Guard has activated for prevention and action related to the theft of the metal wiring.
The Guardia Civil, after detecting an increase in the commission of robberies in several industrial estates industries northwestern outskirts of Murcia and Caravaca de la Cruz, introduced the requirement of enhanced surveillance and controls in order to prevent the commission of further criminal acts and, if necessary, arrest the perpetrators.

- Spanish, age 19 and resident of Caravaca de la Cruz.
- Spanish, 30 years and resident of Caravaca de la Cruz.
- Spanish, 24 years and resident of Caravaca de la Cruz.
- Spanish, 34 years and resident of Moratalla.
All of those arrested have numerous police record for committing similar crimes.

After his remand in custody, two of the detainees were sent to prison.
The detainees, seized property and the proceedings initiated have been made available to the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia).
