The municipal group spokesman IU-Greens in the city of Caravaca, Juan Berbell, has filed a claim to the amendment of the ordinance regulating livestock activities approved in its initial phase by the full council.
The argument proposes modifying a paragraph of one of the fifth transitional provision relating to the distance between the pig farms and homes, as well as the increase of higher livestock units (LU).
Thus, the proposed IU-Green argues that farming keep a distance of 1,000 meters with respect to existing homes before and after the operation, rather than just existing homes as stated before the new ordinance.
Whenever these homes are properly certified.
The formation of the left also claims that these farms can increase to 720 LUs, and not only to 360, which is defending the amendment of the ordinance.
Berbell has indicated that the changes approved by the session only include existing homes before the operation and leave aside those built later and are duly authorized and legalized.
"In any case makes it a condition for extending some distance from the farm, which will result in damage to those people living in those houses scattered because the cattle will increase discomfort and bad odors that had not existed."
The mayor has also warned of "unfairness" that occurs between isolated houses that are within 1,000 feet away to districts and 2,000 meters to the town center, under the ordinance, and both houses away from population centers.
