The center for training and employment of people with disabilities in Caravaca (APCOM) has launched a line of work related to waste management plant to produce biomass energy.
The Councillor of Environment, Maria Antonia Alvarez, said that this project will improve the work of the service users' Ecojardín "made in the municipal gardens and parkland, as pruning will be managed through this process.
It has also encouraged all owners of woodland gardens or to get in touch with Apcom and join this initiative, in addition to promoting sustainable development to create new jobs for people with disabilities.
The bio-shredder and other machinery needed to convert plant waste "pellet" for heating have been acquired thanks to the cooperation agreement signed last October between APCOM and Welfare of La Caixa.
The agreement also includes other actions such as extending the career guidance service.
