The Department of Environment of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz will join on March 23 to the initiative "Earth Hour", a global campaign promoted by WWF to mobilize governments, businesses, schools and citizens' awareness of the saving energy and combating climate change through the symbolic act of turning off the light for one hour.
Caravaca de la Cruz is off of 20.30 to 21.30 lighting the Basilica de la Vera Cruz and Castillo couch.
Earth Hour, the largest global initiative in defense of the environment, mobilizing more than 7,000 cities in 152 countries.
In Spain more than 250 municipalities joined in 2012 by turning off lights in homes, offices and landmark buildings.
As WWF global initiative goes a little further every year and during 2013 is inviting citizens, businesses and municipalities to be efficient in the use of energy and promote renewable energy.
