The Department of Environment of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz participates tomorrow, Saturday March 23, in the "Earth Hour", a global campaign promoted by WWF involving governments, businesses, schools and citizens' awareness about saving energy and combating climate change through the symbolic act of turning off the light for one hour.
Caravaca de la Cruz is off of 20.30 to 21.30 lighting the Basilica de la Vera Cruz and Castillo couch.
Earth Hour, the largest global initiative in defense of the environment, mobilizing more than 7,000 cities in 152 countries.
In Spain last year totaled more than 250 municipalities, turning off lights in homes, offices and landmark buildings.
As WWF global initiative goes a little further every year and during 2013 is inviting citizens, businesses and municipalities to be efficient in the use of energy and promote renewable energy.
