A 75.18% of the women mentioned in the previous season, attended the performance of the test
The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Health, working in Program Breast Cancer Prevention sponsored by the Department of Public Health and the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
The prevention campaign, which takes place for the ninth time the municipality is performing a mammogram every two years.
This year have been cited a total of 2,085 women, aged between 50 and 69 years living in the town and in the parishes.
Medical tests are being conducted from March 25 until April 30, in a mobile unit in the parking lot of the Health Center.
Caravaca City Council has made available all the districts neighboring town furthest from the free bus service.
The Councillor for Health, Maria Teresa Romero, reported that the rate of participation in the town of Caravaca de la Cruz during the biennium 2010/2011 was 75.18%, exceeding the average of the Region of Murcia, which is fixed in 70.3%.
Also, the council has made an appeal to all women cited for attending the performance of tests as the best prevention of breast cancer is early diagnosis.
"This campaign's main objectives are to decrease the rate of mortality from this disease and improve the quality of life of sufferers," as detailed.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Western women, especially those aged between 50 and 69 years.
In Spain, about 22,000 new diagnosed breast cancers per year.
