Agreements will be signed with the communities through which the road to take joint and coordinated
The President of the Valencia, Alberto Fabra, and the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz, accompanied by the mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda, today signed a cooperation agreement for the promotion and implementation in value of "The Way of the Cross".
The ceremony took place in the Valencian town of Cofrentes, with the presence of the Councillor for Tourism, Maria Cruz Perez, and the mayors of Torrebaja, Ademuz, Vallanca, Camporrobles, Utiel, Fuenterrobles, Venta del Moro and Requena.
Sunday Aranda has come to be signing agreements with the various communities through which the Way of the Cross in order to carry out a coordinated and joint promotion of the pilgrimage route, which starts at Puente la Reina (Navarra) and culminates in Caravaca de la Cruz.
Also, the mayor had words of thanks for Valencia and for all municipalities involved in this important agreement, for the interest and collaboration that are providing the impetus for the road.
The agreement includes as main priorities of the joint advocacy, collaboration in detecting problems in the road infrastructure and maintenance and signaling path.
For the development and monitoring of targets set in the action protocol, it will constitute a committee comprising the regions concerned, through their representatives in the field, and a working group made up of technical expertise in the field .
The Murcia region has prompted the launch of the pilgrimage route "El Camino de la Vera Cruz" as route linking Roncesvalles and El Camino de Santiago, at the height of Navarre town of Puente La Reina, to Caravaca de la Cruz.
This route, besides serving pilgrimage route, allows its use by other users motivated by a cultural or sports, and is a source of opportunities for socio-economic development of the territories through and for the recovery of their natural and cultural heritage .
"The momentum of this route make it advisable that the regions through which the road passes, established stable cooperative way to facilitate their development, strengthening and promotion" as the mayor stressed caravaqueño.
"El Camino de la Vera Cruz", based on historical references relating mainly to the Knights Templar and Knights Templar and Aragonese flows to Caravaca de la Cruz, is based on important traditional paths linking the various parts of the route, traversing nearly hundred municipalities in the regions of Navarra, Aragon, Valencia, Castilla-La Mancha and Murcia.
