The University of Murcia, with the support of the City of Caravaca, XXIV campaign develops paleontological and archeological
This morning has started the campaign XXIV archaeological dig in the Black Cave of the Incarnation, part of the Field School Quaternary Palaeontology and Prehistory in the Region of Murcia.
"This is an activity that brings together faculty and students from around the world and is organized by the University of Murcia and the city of Caravaca de la Cruz, with the collaboration of Murcia Association for the Study of Anthropology and Quaternary ", as reported by the Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Maria Cruz Perez.
Until 23 July, at the site caravaqueño work a team of thirty students and graduates from universities in the United States, China, United Kingdom, Sweden, Belgium and Spain.
The drilling campaign will be led by Professor of the Faculty of Biology of the UMU Michael Walker and Mariano Lopez archaeologist.
The aim of this campaign focuses excavation as Mariano Lopez has moved in "continue to expand the grids of the cave in which it appears the home, which is probably the oldest in Europe."

Thanks to the work that has been developing over the past two decades, the site of the Black Cave has become an international reference for the study of human evolution.
In this enclave, located along the river Quípar, Strait Historic Site of The Incarnation, we have located numerous remains of fossil man, fauna and flora and a set of utensils, as a bifacial hand ax.
Experts agree highlight the exceptional antique fire in a European Paleolithic cave.
All sedimentary fill of the cave belongs to the recent period of 990000-780000 years of the Pleistocene Old.
