The Youth Council of the City of Caravaca has closed the seventh annual anti-smoking program "Healthy Travel", which involved a total of 72 young people aged between 15 and 16 years.
This program's main purpose is to warn of the risks associated with the consumption of snuff.
To do this, as the mayor has detailed Maria Antonia Alvarez Jorquera, develop preventive workshops that allow instill healthy lifestyle and subjected participants to regular medical checks.
"Those boys and girls who quit or not start in consumption during the eight-month duration of this program reach the finals and get a prize for getting the proposed goal," said Councilwoman Alvarez Jorquera.
By contrast, participants who are positive on the medical evidence, get out of the program.
The program is coordinated by Sandro Guaschi medical technicians and Youth Council.
The name of the project, "Healthy Travel" answers to how to reward them with a trip to the young people who successfully reach the end of the challenge.
Of the 72 young people who started the program, have reached the final 43, who joined a lottery for 10 people to participate in the European Youth Meeting Mikolow (Poland), along with 100 more young people from other European countries .
In addition, all finalists were awarded a trip to a water park for the efforts and commitments of the program.
In this seventh edition, youth who participate in the European meeting are Ana Sanchez-Guerrero Painter, Miriam Lopez Revelles, Maria Sanchez Gonzalez, Maria Romera Giménez, Esther Martínez Martínez, Alvaro Tomas Alvarez, Jose Alberto Baquero Anson, Paula Matias Martinez, Miguel Rocío Martínez Gómez and Antonio Giménez Sastre.
They will all have the opportunity to interact with youth from eight other countries and participate in the 24 to 28 July in the various cultural activities, workshops and visits planned in the Polish city.
