Alfami Foundation has given the scholarship for the academic year 2012/2013.
The Department of Education of the City of Caravaca reported to have received this award a total of 111 students of Primary, Secondary, Bachelor, Vocational Training and University studies registered in the municipality.
The total amount of financial aid allocated this year amounts to 29,152 euros.
This amount has been distributed by the Foundation trustees governing Alfami 20 elementary students (1,800 euros), 35 Secondary (3,150 euros), 17 high school scholarships (3,400 euros), 13 scholarships for vocational training (2,600 euros) and 26 scholarships for university students (18,200 euros).
The young scholars are selected based on academic record and merits, family economic situation and criteria for directors themselves schools.
Basic education students have received financial support from 90 euros, the post-compulsory education for 200 euros and 700 euros college.
Alfami Foundation is primarily intended as expressly provided statutes and faithfully following the wishes expressed in the will of the founder, Alfonso López Álvarez, "giving birth to privileged intelligences obscured by the lack of money through scholarships for grants to facilitate completion of their studies. "
The board of the foundation's president of honor of the bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, Jose Manuel Lorca Planes, and is chaired by the Mayor of Caravaca, Domingo Aranda.
In addition, part of this patronage the pastor of El Salvador, Jesus Aguilar Mondejar, as vice president of the foundation, the school's director Cervantes, Jacinto Molina as secretary, the director of IES San Juan de la Cruz, Isidro de la Ossa, as treasurer, and the representative of the family of the founder, Manuel Alfonso Guerrero.
