African rhythms, flamenco and Celtic concert cycle "A Barranda Moon" (24/07/2013)

The Music Museum receives nearly five thousand visitors during the first half of the year

The concert series "A Barranda Moon", organized by the departments of Tourism and Culture of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, will be held on Saturdays 10, 17 and August 24 in the courtyard of the Museum of Ethnic Music.

The group "Aba Taano", formed by young Ugandan NGO's "Music for Life", will be in charge of opening the concert series on Saturday August 10.

"Aba Taano" has toured the major concert halls and Spanish theater, highlighting their performances at the Teatro Real, the Reina Sofia in Madrid Auditorium, the Lope de Vega in Seville and the Palau de la Música in Barcelona.

He has also toured many European and American countries.

Also, were the musical representatives of Africa in the World Expo held in Zaragoza.

"This group consists of young people, who sing a cappella, with voices of extraordinary quality and energy and joy that leaves no one indifferent" remarked Councilman Maria Cruz Perez Sanchez.

The council has also spoken of the great humanitarian work of the NGO "Music for Life", and that through the actions of "Aba Taano" held in Kampala, the Ugandan capital, an orphanage, where they grew their own components the group.

The second concert will be held on August 17 and will be given by Julian Paez Murcia.

This singer interweaves the popular and high culture, adapting poems of prominent authors such as Miguel Hernandez, to flamenco music.

The group "North Sea" closes summer concerts Ethnic Music Museum.

The band consists of composers and musicians with a style forged from its origins and rich musical experience.

"North Sea" is considered one of the Celtic rock groups of the Spanish banner.

The three concerts scheduled as part of the series "A Barranda Moon" will start at 22.30 pm in the courtyard of the Museum of Ethnic Music.

Admission will be free to fill seats.

Almost 5,000 visitors during the first half of the year at the Museum of Music

The Ethnic Music Museum has received during the first half of this year a total of 4,782 visitors, a figure very similar to that obtained in 2011 and 2012.

"Last year were 10,287 people who passed through the museum Barranda, placing it in one of the most visited of the Regional Network of Museums", as reported by the Councillor for Tourism and Culture in the City of Caravaca, Maria Cruz Perez.

The Ethnic Music Museum houses much of the instruments from the collection of Charles White Fadol.

The exhibits stand out for their exoticism, authenticity and spectacle, featuring such disparate sizes as small clarinet Belarus barley stalk, to the huge Chinese drum, reaching almost 4 meters high.

The different sections of the museum offers visitors a varied sample of the musical culture of the peoples of the world.
