The Department of Sports City of Caravaca de la Cruz has launched a municipal school dedicated to the practice of nature activities.
This activity has enrolled 50 children, aged between 8 and 13 years.
The school offers two Saturdays a month through May.
During the scheduled sessions, the children were divided into age groups and led by trained instructors in the field, participate in various activities like hiking, multisport workshops, duathlon, reforestation sites, crafts and canoeing on the river Segura, among many others.
"This school has a twofold purpose instill an early age the need to care for and respect our environment and promote a healthy lifestyle with the practice of sport in nature", as reported by the Councillor for Sports, Emilio Perez.
The Sports Council has organized for the academic 2013/2014 twenty sports schools, covering disciplines already established including Football, Gymnastics, Athletics, Handball and Basketball, and others that enjoy wide acceptance in recent years as Dance or the School of Tennis Rafa Nadal Foundation.
The schedule also includes a school and the aforementioned paradeportiva Activities in Nature.
