IU-Northwest Greens install an information table tomorrow from 12 to 14 hours in the Tuzla Caravaca Square against the use of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) in the county.
The coordinator of the formation of the left in the Northwest, Candida Marín, responsible for environment IU-Greens, Victoria Rodriguez and territorial delegate Association of Geographers of the Region of Murcia, Joaquín Atenza, along with the county council, explain to the public the effects of fracking and collect views on this practice in the area.
For IU-Greens, fracking, which involves finding hydrocarbons through pressure injection of water and chemicals underground, involves "high risk" and "very aggressive."
Among the consequences of this technique has mentioned the pollution of water, air, land and crops, and increased risk of earthquakes.
It has also warned that fracking has negative effects on economic activity in the region, especially with regard to food production and tourism.
IU-Green has said that the promise of creating a few precarious jobs in the mining company would end up with thousands of stable jobs in other sectors.
