The City of Caravaca de la Cruz, through its Department of Education, will launch a new phase of the Municipal Plan for Prevention, Monitoring and Control Truancy through a grant of 10,500 euros provided by the Ministry of Education region.
To enhance the actions in this matter, the Department of Equation 2.700 euros added to budget.
The last academic year was first activated the Municipal Plan for Prevention, Monitoring and Control Truancy.
We worked so indivualizada a total of 24 secondary students, who were part of a program of educational measures alternatives to expulsion.
In addition, 15 other students attended tutoring classes.
The plan also includes actions to children, families and educators themselves, such as lectures, symposia and raparto informative material.
In the development plan schools are involved, as the main detection channel and first responders, the Bureau of Local Absenteeism, which keeps track of the proceedings, the departments of Education, Social Welfare and Public Safety and the association "Educa- more ", which coordinates stakeholders and is responsible for the actions materialize.
Recipients are caravaqueños students, aged between 3 and 16 years of Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary.
Truancy arises from the non-attendance of children or irregular attendance of these classes.
When this happens, the pace of student learning suffers and problems start appearing behind at school, if not addressed, can lead to dropout and failure.
Truancy begins as an educational problem, but can become the medium to long term social exclusion risk problem for the child.
