The municipal group of IU-Greens in the city of Caravaca has requested the convening of an extraordinary plenary session for the mayor expose the management model of the monastery of San José, on loan from a company at the Guildhall, and clarify "what happened" with this property.
The formation of the left has said that the monastery, declared of Cultural Interest (BIC) in 2003, was sold by the owner to a company that "has left the building and has not met the standards" that correspond to a protected well.
"So much so that, according to experts from the Directorate General of Cultural Property, gone or damaged 32 pieces that were inside the convent," said IU-Greens.
In his opinion, "the City or Zip should have bought the monastery", but he did a private entity "that is the same Joint Venture (JV) which has taken nine million euros in the town".
That entity has transferred the management of the monastery council for one year renewable, "and now is when the City Council is responsible for meeting the standards for the BIC," he added.
Also, IU-Greens criticized the "mismanagement" of the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage, the company owner and the City, "not to have worried that standards are met."
