This morning we met in Caravaca de la Cruz 17 "Sisters Cities" at the first meeting of the monitoring committee of the "Footprints Teresa" route in the community of Murcia.
After the successful presentation at FITUR of "Footprints", sponsored among others by Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz, the meeting of Caravaca de la Cruz has served primarily to coordinate the implementation of this route on 28 March.
Everything is ready for a year before the V Centenary of the birth of St. Teresa is launched this route tour, pilgrimage and cultural which will reveal the "Footprint Teresa" by Spain.
A free route, without time limit, which allows multiple options and adapting to the needs of tourists and pilgrims.
Easy as seal the credential in at least 4 of the 17 cities in 2 different regions, and go to the office Pilgrim Ávila for the distinction attesting know the "Footprint Teresa".
The meeting in Caravaca de la Cruz has also served to agree to hold a meeting of Teresas in each of the 17 cities on 25 October, as well as an international meeting on April 18, 2015 in the city of Ávila.
This meeting aims to bring together women called "Teresa" on the occasion of the V Centenario, just as was done in 1982 to mark the fourth centenary of his death.
Finally, the cities agreed that the next meeting will remain in Toledo in April, thus uniting the figures of Santa Teresa and El Greco, taking advantage of that in 2015 and 2014 are held respectively the centenary of these two characters as important to the history of Spain.
The meeting was chaired by the Mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Domingo Aranda, and was attended by mayors, councilors and technicians of the 17 cities where "The Holy" founded convents: Avila, Medina del Campo, Malagon, Valladolid, Toledo Pastrana, Salamanca, Alba de Tormes, Segovia, Beas de Segura, Sevilla, Caravaca de la Cruz, Villanueva de la Jara, Palencia, Soria, Granada, and Burgos, as well as representatives of the Order of Discalced Carmelites.
