The director general of the Tourism Institute, Mariola Martinez, visited Caravaca de la Cruz to show their support for the Moors, Christians and horses came in honor of the Blessed and Vera Cruz, declared of International Tourist Interest.
The director stressed the special character of the celebrations this year, given the fact that the Wine Horses are candidates to be declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
He also noted the importance of the festival as a tourist attraction, and referred to the improvement of the sector data in the area in the first quarter compared to the previous year, as there has been an increase of almost 30 percent in the number of passengers and more than 50 percent in the overnights.
