Director General Colleges, Luis Javier Lozano, visited, with the director of the National Distance Education University (UNED) in the Region of Murcia, Manuel Domínguez, and the Councillor for Education of Caravaca de la Cruz, Carmen Ruiz, extension facilities of the Open University in the town.
According to data contained in the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities 6,100 students are studying in the different venues of the Open University in the region.
The center of the Open University in Cartagena has three extensions in Lorca, Yecla and Caravaca de la Cruz, in which a score of official university degrees, the Access Course to the University for over 25 years, as well as courses offered Language.
To this end, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities allocated 140,000 euros to the UNED.
Luis Javier Lozano said that "thanks to these facilities caravaqueños nearly a hundred people over 25 can prepare for the university entrance without having to go to any other municipality, thus improving the quality of education and training."
During the visit, the CEO of Universities saw first hand the facilities of this extension of the Open University in the town as well as the needs of the center and nearly a hundred students studying in these facilities.
