The CEO of Universities accompanied by the director at the UNED visited Caravaca after a meeting with the mayor
Director General Colleges, Luis Javier Lozano, visited by the regional director at the UNED, Manuel Domínguez, and Council for Education and Employment of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz, Carmen Ruiz Gómez and Salvador respectively facilities National University of Distance Education in the town.
The visit took place after a meeting with the mayor, Domingo Aranda, which has set a commitment to maintain and improve as much as possible this service.
During the visit, the CEO of Universities could see first hand the facilities caravaqueña extension of the UNED, next to the Plaza del Hoyo, and the needs of the center.
In Caravaca more than 500 people in the Northwest Region and other nearby areas by studying the extent of the UNED.
In addition, as reported Luis Javier Lozano, "because these facilities caravaqueños nearly a hundred people over 25 can prepare for the university entrance without having to go to any other municipality, thus improving the quality of education and training ".
According to data contained in the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities 6,100 students are studying in the different venues of the Open University in the Region of Murcia.
The headquarters of Caravaca de la Cruz has several classrooms where tutoring, library and classroom technologies are given.
In addition, students are offered the AVIP platform by way of a virtual classroom to bring tutorials and room for videoconferencing.
The Centre of the Open University in Cartagena has three extensions in Lorca, Yecla and Caravaca de la Cruz, in which a score of official university degrees, the course of access to the University for over 25 years, as well as courses offered Language.
To this end, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities allocated 140,000 euros to the UNED.
