The City of Caravaca de la Cruz has scheduled a new edition of the series "A Barranda Moon" with five performances that take place in the courtyard of the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda.
All concerts, free admission to all seats, will take place every Saturday in August and will start at 22.30.
"The concert series" A Barranda Moon "is a consolidated caravaqueño summer activities, which has become a tourist and cultural resource over town, as every summer gets very good response from the public," in the words of the Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Maria Cruz Perez, who has detailed the scheduled concerts accompanied cycle coordinator, José Sánchez Alarte.
The series covers a variety of styles, from rock to choral music, the rhythms of South American music and traditional folk.
Concerts begin on Saturday August 2nd concert of "The Hellhates", a band with a wide experience of the stage, having the "Southern music" as its best weapon to engage the audience.
Their music is marked by the "psychobilly" style, but understood in an open manner, ranging from the classic rhythms of rock'n'roll from the 50s until the rub sounds punk-rock.
"The Hellhates" is influenced by legendary bands like Stray Cats, Nekromantix, or albums released in the early 80 "Loquillo and Mafia" and "Rock and Edges", among others.
Other concerts borne by the mariachi band Veracruz (August 9) of caravaqueño choir choral music "Arsis" (August 16);
Shadows group, composed of members of the Parrandboleros, which will give a concert in composiones basing Los Panchos (August 23).
Finally, the series "A Moon Barranda" shall conclude on August 30 with the "Cultural Evening", which shall consist of live music, theater and poetry by various people connected to the people of Barranda, under the direction of Ignacio Ramos.
A 36% increase of visitors to the Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda
The Museum of Ethnic Music Barranda, which houses the collection of instruments Fadol Carlos Blanco, registered in the first half of the year a total of 6,494 visitors, an increase of 36% over the same period of last year, when 4,782 visits were counted.
The Museum of Ethnic Music is included in the Network of Museums of the Region of Murcia.
Inside, visitors can see a variety of musical culture sample of 145 countries, as well as music, stories and legends that date back to the third century BC, compiled by musicologist White Fadol.
