Ten young people from Caravaca de la Cruz participated in the "European Youth Meeting", held last week in the Portuguese town of Penafiel.
Alongside caravaqueños were present a hundred young people from various cities in Germany, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Poland and Portugal.
During the meeting, the youth have participated in an intensive program of activities, workshops and games focused on knowing the culture of Portugal, as the host, and also that of each of the cities represented.
Caravaca joined in 2008 network integrated into the annual meetings "European Youth Meeting" cities being home to one of them in 2009. Encounters Europeans have among its objectives, according to statements by the mayor of Youth Antonia María Álvarez Jorquera, "encouraging mobility and personal enrichment of young people through the bonds they establish with colleagues from other countries and knowledge of other cultures."
The Youth Council selects participants at the meeting by a drawing among finalists anti-smoking program "Healthy Travel".
