The Spaniard Alejandro Valverde Jiménez repeated as champion in the second edition of Al-Mudayna Half Triathlon Distance with a time of 4:25:20.
In the women Anna Noguera Catalan was the winner with a time of 5:04:13.
The area councilor reponsable Sports in the city of Caravaca de la Cruz, Emilio Perez, wanted to thank "the excellent work done by the troops of special safety and emergencies, composed Underwater Rescue Team, Police, Fire Local Police and Caravaca, Moratalla and Cehegín ".
He also highlighted "the exemplary involvement of all the volunteers who made the running of the competition as possible, including members of Civil Protection, Red Cross, canoeing and School Sports Association Al-Mudayna".
"This is the second year that the Sports Council and the Sports Association Al-Mudayna committed to this pioneer in Murcia a power test event sports tourism in the Northwest Region and also allows us to enjoy the thrill of pure sport, "added the councilor.
The test began at Argos reservoir, located in the neighboring town of Cehegín, with over 200 athletes in the starting line.
Subsequently, the cycling section, consisting of 90 km sections of the municipalities of Cehegín, Caravaca and Moralla and 21 kilometers race walk was developed.
The awards ceremony took place at the sports complex Fernández Francisco Torralba, where was placed the finish line, with the mayor, Domingo Aranda, and the president of the Triathlon Federation of the Region of Murcia, Diego Calvo, and Selectmen Emilio Pérez and María Teresa Romero.
