With the slogan "Let's give our forests a chance," awareness campaign "Proforbiomed" project visit Saturday morning Caravaca de la Cruz.
11.00 14.00 citizens can visit an information booth, where there will also be children's educational workshops, in order to make known the many benefits that the use of biomass has in our region.
"Proforbiomed" is a strategic project funded by the European Territorial Cooperation Programme MED MED and has a total of 17 partners from France, Italy, Slovenia, Greece, Portugal and Spain.
In Murcia, is led by the Directorate General Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, also participating the Instituto de Fomento.
The project aims to promote the development and use of energy from forest residues in the Mediterranean.
One of his challenges is to create a production of biomass and promote its energy market as an economic power, clean and generating employment.
The campaign informs about the main advantages of using biomass: forest conservation;
It is a renewable, clean and sustainable energy and a local resource that contributes to rural development.
It is also a cheaper energy and stable price.
Its use for heating is 50% to 30% cheaper than diesel and gas, respectively.
