Clusters of Civil Protection "Sisters Cities" have signed a twinning protocol coinciding with the V Centenary of the Birth of St. Teresa.
The event, held in the auditorium of San Francisco Avila capital brought together hundreds of volunteers integrated into the tourist and cultural project "Traces of Teresa" cities including Caravaca de la Cruz, represented by the president of the group Local, Pedro Antonio Muñoz, along with several volunteer members of the board.
"The goal of this partnership is to maintain close cooperation between cities in protecting citizens and exchange of information and knowledge and training", as highlighted by the Councillor for Tourism in caravaqueño Consistory, Maria Cruz Perez.
Representatives of groups have signed the manifesto of twinning and received a plaque commemorating this event.
They have also participated in talks on equity, given by Fire Chief Avila, Alfredo Delgado, and another on major events, by the head of the local police of Avila, José Miguel San Millán.
Through the manifesto signed, clusters of Civil Defence volunteers and City of Avila, Valladolid, Toledo, Malagon (Ciudad Real), Salamanca, Pastrana (Guadalajara), Alba de Tormes (Salamanca), Segovia, Beas de Segura (Jaén ), Caravaca de la Cruz (Murcia), Villanueva de la Jara (Cuenca), Palencia, Soria and Granada claim the unanimous decision to maintain friendly relations, union and fraternal brotherhood to achieve progress, development and welfare of these locations united in mutual desire for coexistence.
On the other hand, municipalities support the organization of social encounters that result in the formation of the Civil Defence volunteers in their municipalities.
The event was chaired by the Mayor of Avila, Miguel Angel Garcia Nieto, accompanied by the head of the Association of Volunteers Avila and Fire Chief, Alfredo Delgado, the deputy mayor of Security, Jose Francisco Hernandez, and the chief director Civil Protection Avila, Roberto Martinez Herández.
