This morning the Chairman of the Sisters Cities and Mayor of Avila Spain, Miguel Angel Garcia Nieto, accompanied by various Mayors, Councillors and Technical Group locations, the Discalced Carmelite Order and the Minister of Tourism of Spain in Rome Carlos Hernandez Garcia, were received in audience by the Pope Francis.
His Holiness encouraged to meet Santa Teresa through "Footprints Teresa" and congratulated all for this great idea, showing his admiration and appreciation for the work being done to publicize the work and legacy of Santa Teresa.
He highlighted the coordinated work of the Sisters of Spain 17 Cities, in collaboration with the Order of Discalced Carmelites, work started on the occasion of the V Centenary of his birth and that the Holy Father has emphasized that clear vocation of continuity in time.
The delegation appreciated the gesture by His Holiness "Footprints Teresa" and presented him with several gifts, including a guide to "Footprints Teresa" Credential path and its own "TA" with his secular name Jorge Mario Bergoglio Sivori.
Furthermore, aprovechandp the meeting, he reiterated the invitation to visit Spain, during the celebration of the V Centenary of the Birth of St. Theresa and the great hope that His Holiness tour the "Markings Teresa".
