A large crowd gathered last night at the Church of St. Joseph of the former convent of the Carmelites of Caravaca to attend the concert of Spanish medieval music and the unveiling of the commemorative plaque of the V Centenary of the Birth of St. Teresa of Jesus who has colcado in the 17 "Sisters Cities".
The concert and exhibition attended by the mayor, Domingo Aranda, accompanied by councilors of the Municipal Corporation and the prior of the Carmelite Order in Caravaca de la Cruz, Pascual Gil, along with parents of the Carmelite community, and older sister of the Brotherhood of the Vera Cruz, Elisa Giménez-Giron.
The activity "The Sephardic Legacy Music musical instruments in medieval Spanish tradition." Programmed by the Culture Department of the City of Caravaca, consisted of a concert-exhibition with more than 50 musical instruments, reproductions of medieval iconography Spanish centuries XII to XV, belonging to the collection of Jack Martinez and Mara Aranda.
Attendees were able to hear the collection of instruments built from thumbnails and musicians are represented in porches of churches and cathedrals with instruments and recorded at the time, accompanied by explanations and literary references Mara Aranda and Jota Martinez.
