The Ministry of Development, Public Works and Planning, through the Highways Agency, has carried out improvements to the regional road RM-730, which connects the town of Caravaca de la Cruz on the edge of regional community Andalusia autonomous, totaling about 420,000 euros, aimed at improving road safety and traffic flow.
The stretch between 1.9 kilometer, up to the cemetery in Caravaca de la Cruz, and 7.0, in the variant of Barranda, is especially busy because it is part of the Valencia-Murcia axis Community -Andalucía and is one of the Structuring roads of the Northwest region.
The traffic intensity is particularly high in the stretch between the city of Caravaca de la Cruz and Sell broods, with an estimate of 9,870 vehicles per day, of which ten percent are heavy vehicles that use it because of its character interregional axis.
The road surface due to this intense heavy traffic was down and the limits of their structural capacity, so that the works carried out have been aimed at curbing the progressive deterioration and increase the levels of safety and comfort to suit your high level of traffic and the road category belonging to the Network Level One.
The works, which have had a deadline of four months have included strengthening the driveway with asphalt, cleaning gutters and margins, as well as the replacement of road markings.
