For this edition are scheduled two representations of the Great Medieval Tournament to be held on Sunday December 7 at 12.00 and 16.00
The heads of the departments of Tourism, Trade and Handicrafts and Celebrations of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz have announced the schedule of the eleventh edition of the Great Medieval Market, which will be held on 6, 7 and 8 December in the historic town.
More than 200 artisans from different parts of the Spanish geography have confirmed their participation in the market, with sales and demonstration workshops on woodwork, copper handicrafts, silk yarn, forging, wicker, masonry and stone, among other specialties.
In addition, the market will be accompanied by a full program, consisting of numerous shows, street entertainment and children's corner.
For this edition, are scheduled two performances of "Great Medieval Tournament" at the Plaza del Toros.
The tournament, which recreate the battles between knights, will take place on Sunday December 7 at 12.00 and 16.30, and tickets can be purchased in advance at the Tourist Office or study subject to the same through phone 968 70 24 24.
Another novelty is the "Great Medieval Banquet", organized by the Sovereign Order of the Temple of Bando group Christian and to be held on Saturday, December 6 at 14:30 in the old church of the Jesuits.
Tickets can also be purchased at the Tourist Office and will be indispensable assistance with medieval attire.
Moreover, a total of ten bars and local restaurants have joined the VII Gastronomic Lamb Segureño that conindiendo with the Medieval Market, will offer its clientele four typical recipes of the earth, from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th December.
Both signage market as brochures with programming and data of interest to the visitor have been published in Castilian and English.
The Department of Tourism will strengthen services to the public and both Street office of the Nuns as the point of tourist attention of the Plaza del Arco will remain open during days 6, 7 and 8 December, from 10.00 to 14.00 hours and from 16.30 to 20.00.
For its part, the Department of Public Safety and Traffic planned and coordinated a special security plan, which will involve more than one hundred officers of the Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Defence volunteers and Red Cross.
The Great Medieval Market maintains the distribution of previous editions and will be located in the historical center: with the gateway in Gran Vía, continuing through the streets Canalica and Puentecilla, Plaza del Arco and Plaza Nueva, street Nuns walk from Santa Clara and turning down the street College Street and ending at the street Rafael Tejeo.
This area will be festooned with banners, flags and medieval banners, which will complement what is already offering itself traditional architecture and monuments in the old town.
