A total of 2,207 people have visited the church of San José del former convent of the Carmelite Mothers during the first month of the Teresian year, according to data collected by the Department of Tourism of Caravaca de la Cruz.
Of the total number of visitors, 44.59% came from different parts of the Region of Murcia, 50.7% from other regions and 4.71% from foreign countries.
Moreover, 1,882 people participated in guided the monumental church and convent of San José visits, offered daily by the Department of Tourism.
Of total input a 29.76% corresponds to people from different municipalities in the region, the 61.32% visitors from other parts of the Spanish geography and 8.92% is of foreign origin.
"Coinciding with the opening of the Jubilee Year Teresian guided tours to be offered weekly happened to have a daily frequency, achieving an excellent response from the public," as reported by the Councillor for Tourism, Maria Cruz Perez, who has also emphasized that Visitors have received most practical Spanish provinces and also from other countries like Germany, France, England, Portugal, Denmark and Mexico.
Guided throughout the Teresian Year Visits
Coinciding with the celebration of the V Centenary of the Birth of St. Teresa, the Department tourism offer daily guided tours of the monumental church and convent of the Carmelites, located on Main Street views.
To participate you must take reservation at the Tourist Office, located in street Nuns, or contact us via phone 968 702 424. The entrance is priced at 2 euros and 1 euro for children and pensioners (for minors 3 years admission is free).
The tours are held from Monday to Sunday at 12:30 and the Saturday a double pass is made, at 12.30 and 16.00.
During the tour, visitors discover dependencies as the cloister, the kitchen, provisional chapel of the professed, oratorio novitiate, cell religious, refectory and trades.
The goal is that visitors can have a real and teaching what is a space reserved for a close idea.
Throughout the Teresian Year, the Church of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and the chapel of Santa Teresa Convent of the Carmelite Fathers, located on the promenade of the log, and the former convent of San José, located on Main Street, permacen open to the public every day of the week from 10.30 to 14.00.
