The Office of Consumer Caravaca solves 73% of the complaints received in 2014 (09/01/2015)

The City of Caravaca and Consumur renew the agreement for information campaigns among consumers and users

The Consumer Agency of the City of Caravaca de la Cruz (OMIC) recorded last year a volume of 2,562 inquiries and complaints, 76 cases more than in 2013.

Of the total complaints, 73% are filed to be resolved, 10% was derived Consumer Arbitration Board, 6% is pending mediation, 8% is awaiting submission to Arbitration, 3% have been submitted to the competent bodies.

56% of claims services correspond to fixed and mobile telephony, followed by claims of energy and water supplies.

Finally, note the care and administrative procedures related to online and telephone sales of products.

"The data show us that this municipal service whose primary mission is to protect the rights protecting the consumer, is consolidated and is known and demanded by the residents of our town as assessed by the mayor of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Maria Teresa Romero.

Collaboration agreement

The mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Domingo Aranda, and the president of the Murcia Association of Consumers and Users (Consumur), Roberto Barceló, today renewed the cooperation agreement to continue with the activities of information and awareness among consumers and users the municipality.

Within this agreement, is managing the Municipal Office of Consumer Information (OMIC), which are reported and handled complaints from citizens, and conducted various activities and campaigns addressing the students of schools and society in general.

"We are in agreement with which try to guarantee the fundamental rights of consumers and resulting in multiple activities and continuing the very positive work being done by the Office of Consumer, which this year has treated an average of 10 queries and daily complaints with a resolution rate of 73%, "said the mayor, who has reviewed very favorably collaboration in recent years between the City and Consumur.

The Municipal Office of Consumer Caravaca is located on the second floor of City Hall.

Its opening to the public is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and Wednesday from 17.00 to 20.00.
