The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz, Domingo Aranda, today visited the works of the new collector of sanitation, which will serve the south of the urban case.
The investment in this infrastructure, part of the General Plan of cleansing and purifying, amounting to 312,851 euros, amount financed 80 percent by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union and the remaining 20 percent for the region.
The collector, 1.2 kilometers long, will lead to the municipal water treatment plant, to be treated and then reused for agricultural purposes.
Antonio Cerda said that the new collector "focus on the main wastewater treatment plant in this area for treatment and reuse, and improve sanitation in the heart of town".
The mayor, Domingo Aranda, wanted to acknowledge the work of the technical office for the project and the interest and effort of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water of the Government of the Autonomous Community to fund this important action for the city.
"It is a work demanded and necessary, as it will solve the problems that were recorded as a result of the accumulation of rainwater and particularly affecting the neighbors of Los Molinos" he pointed Domingo Aranda.
The new collector will collect water from the lower part of the Gran Via and Constitution Avenue and evacuated through the slope of Los Molinos, the general collector districts.
This infrastructure will solve the problems of accumulation and disposal of produced water in times of rain in the Los Molinos, and the apple falls between Nicaragua, streets Lope de Vega and Constitution Avenue.
In addition, the project prevents the passage of collectors and general networks for homes and land in private ownership, with a path that runs entirely on public land, materials and diameters adapted to the population and needs.
