Peregrín Alma Ana Tovar, former student of caravaqueño John of the Cross Institute offers tomorrow, Thursday January 22, in the auditorium of the Casa de la Cultura, the conference "An experience in Mexico with the Whale Shark. A species threatened ".
The event will start at 12.15, and the same will assist students from IES San Juan de la Cruz, although open to any person interested.
Peregrín Alma Ana Tovar is now scientific technique in the study of whale sharks in the Ensenada Center for Scientific Research and Higher Education (Baja California, Mexico), where he works since 2011. The talk will focus on his experience in this fascinating scientific work of great ecological value.
Peregrín studied at the IES John of the Cross during the courses 2003/04 and 2004/05.
She has a degree in Marine Sciences and Environmental Sciences at the University of Cádiz (Puerto Real).
It was Erasmus student at Kingston University (London) and later studied with Bancaja scholarship at the Autonomous University of Baja California (Mexico) .Posteriormente, studied English in Hawaii with a grant from MEC and obtained the degree of Master of Science (Marine Ecology) by the Centre for Scientific Research and Higher Education of Ensenada (CICESE) in Baja California (Mexico).
He currently serves as scientific technician in the biological monitoring program (PROMOBI) whale shark in the Biosphere Reserve in Bahia de los Angeles (Baja California) .has volunteered in the program of white sharks in the Biosphere Reserve Isla of Guadalupe.También worked on the program of conservation of species at risk (PROCER) for the conservation of whale sharks in Mexico.
Last summer he embarked as a technical assistant in the research vessel Justo Sierra, in Canek 35 mission, within a project evaluation PEMEX.
She is the author of a chapter on the whale shark in the book "Sharks CITES: The status of your Conabio knowledge".
