Caravaqueños more than 40 students have enrolled in the program of health education and anti-smoking "Healthy Journey", organized by the Youth Council of the City of Caravaca and part of measures included in the Municipal Plan to Combat Drug Addiction.
The program aims to promote healthy lifestyles in the adolescent stage and equip young people with information and tools to prevent drug use.
The mayor of Youth, Antonia Maria Alvarez, said that participants attend, divided into small groups, lectures, workshops and group dynamics and also acquire a commitment not to smoke during the eight-month program, undergoing tests periodic control.
During the nine years that the city of Caravaca de la Cruz has organized this activity, more than 500 students from 4th year of ESO participated in the activities of this program, which coordinates the doctor Northwest Regional Hospital Sandro Guachi, technicians with the Youth Council.
The name of the program addresses how to motivate young people, since reaching the finals are rewarded participation in an activity of leisure and living outside the town, which changes with each edition.
Additionally, those that culminate this drug prevention program enter into a draw to participate in a youth meeting in a European country.
