The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the mayor of Caravaca de la Cruz and president of Integral Local Action Group, Domingo Aranda, today launched a mobile application that allows access to the supply of rural territory of the Region Murcia, accompanied by the project director, Fernando López.
This application can be downloaded free on mobile devices with iOS and Android systems, and provides access to the contents of the bid offered by each municipality as where to go, where to eat, lodgings, entertainment and tours and routes each locality.
'RuMapps' is part of the actions contemplated the Rural Development Programme of the Region of Murcia, through the Leader performances, bringing together the various initiatives in rural areas and provides these core tools needed to play a role active.
This initiative is the result of a proposed intra-regional cooperation, coordinated by the Integral group for socio-economic development of the regions of Northwest River Mula, districts high Lorca and Espuña.
In this application have helped other local action groups and 32 municipalities in the region, built into this program, "although this can be extended to other towns," said the director.
Cerda said Murcia Rural Apps "is the first application dedicated exclusively to the rural territory of the Murcia Region and becomes a great example of using technology progress and development of rural areas".
Access to the contents of 'RuMapps'
Through this application, any visitor can view from your mobile supply and resources of each territory, grouped by sector, and access your location.
In addition, citizens can participate actively in the development of the territory itself, since the option to create its route system and make them accessible to other users with their comments and recommendations given by prior registration.
The application, available in Spanish and English, can be downloaded free for iPhone and iPad through its App Store or Android Play Store.
In parallel, we have developed the web www.rumapps.es to be consulted at any time from any computer.
The application also provides access to information on a 'offline' without permanent access to a 3G or Wifi network connection data to enable their use in those rural areas without proper coverage to access it.
The location reported by the device of the distance from the different sites consulted and their location via Google Maps.
Initiative Leader
This initiative is part of the Leader approach, the Rural Development Programme of the Region of Murcia, financed by the European Union, the Ministry and the Autonomous Community.
The Leader actions allow the development of cultural activities, improve the natural environment, rehabilitation of architecture and heritage buildings, and rural tourism.
The Leader program assumes the aid worth 33 million euros Region, this being the third in Spain program higher in relation to the number of groups.
The owner of Agriculture said that the program "enables various local action groups, representing different rural areas of the region, join for projects and actions that can not be made on an individual level."
Since its launch in 1991, Leader has provided rural communities in the EU the tools to play an active role in creating their own future, encouraging citizen participation in the elaboration and implementation of development strategies sustainable.
